Inleiding:
Een hydraulische motor is een actuator van een hydraulisch systeem dat de hydraulische drukenergie die door een hydraulische pomp wordt geleverd, omzet in de mechanische energie (koppel en snelheid) van de uitgaande as. Vloeistof is het medium dat kracht en beweging overbrengt.
Hydraulische motoren, ook wel oliemotoren genoemd, worden voornamelijk gebruikt in spuitgietmachines, schepen, takels, bouwmachines, bouwmachines, mijnbouwmachines, mijnbouwmachines, metallurgische machines, scheepsbouwmachines, petrochemie en havenmachines.
